I just got back from Denver, and the Taylor Family baby shower went off without a hitch! I got to spend time with the soon-to-be parents and ogle their adorable nursery. Jamie looks like she’s about to pop! One more month to go…

Isn’t that tree mural the darndest thing? Jamie did that herself, making paper stencils by printing out pictures from the internet and then tracing them and painting them. Clever!

The happy couple beams… cute! We had yummy cupcakes with adorable cupcake toppers, homemade sandwiches and punch. My talented mother made a beautiful diaper bag for Jamie and Denny, which they of course loved to death.

I made them three different bibs, with two burp cloths each in the corresponding fabrics. I also gifted a Texas teething toy (!), and an adorable pink and leopard print set of booties and a hat from MeandReekie. I also made them a name decal for the baby’s room, a bunting garland that ended up matching the room really well. Really, if I would have had a wee bit more time they would have ended up with LOADS of handmade baby stuff. It’s kind of addictive.

All in all, even though I was only there for three days and it was about 20 degrees hotter in Denver than it is in Seattle, the trip was wonderful. It’s funny to think that the next time I see the Taylor family, there will be a third smaller member of their new family. I’ve never been around many babies, but I think I could get used to this. Hurry up baby Jasmine!
