I was unsure how this Christmas would fare, it being just the hubby, dogs and I at home on glorious Christmas morning. In retrospect, I shouldn’t have thought twice about it. Brett, that ever-thoughtful husband of mine, did whatever he could to guarantee we would have a good Christmas together. Not only did he make me Ghirardelli hot cocoa with mini marshmallows, but he also got both dogs HUGE honkin’ Christmas bones AND……. (drumroll)….

my new machine!

My new Brother CS6000 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine was sitting under the tree in a suspiciously large and square blue bag. This isn’t top of the line by any means, but considering I’ve been sewing on a beige heavier-than-a-ton Kenmore machine circa 1960 (that doesn’t make a buttonhole for shit), this Brother is a shiny, new-fangled beacon from the future.

He spoiled me with splendind things, including L’Occitane Cherry Blossom lotion, a blown-up photo in frame of my absolute favorite wedding pic, a 1-hr gift certificate for a massage (!), some tie-dyed leg warmers, a Japanese tea infuser/pot and more (if you can believe it).  I’m a lucky girl.

Thanks Brett. For everything (not just the gifts).
